Back after a long period of inactivity. Got some new material lying around for months, but didn’t take the time to sit down and relax to post-process it properly. This one was taken in the beginning of this year during a nice winter walk on the beach in Bloemendaal aan Zee.

Kicking off again after moving to our new apartment with this spectacular view from our balcony. We are being battered by thunderstorms the last weeks, and this evening when i was doing some work on my computer i saw this sucker rolling in from the North Sea through the window of our new computer room. Immediately whipped out my cam and ran out

An art exhibit in the municipal building of Middelburg. It was made out of giant inflatable transparent beachballs, held together by black plastic industrial binding material. I liked the contrast of modern art in a monumental building.

Kloveniersdoelen, Middelburg

Built in 1611, in Flemish Renaissance style, this building has seen it all. During the course of time it has been used as the headquarters of a marksmen’s guild, a Dutch East India Company storehouse, a military hospital during the French revolution, and more recently, a provincial music library. In 1735 the tower was destroyed when it was struck by lightning; it was rebuilt more than two centuries later, in 1969.

Nowadays, The Kloveniersdoelen is occupied by the Center for New Music.

Bevrijdingspop 2007 Haarlem

A quick impression of Bevrijdingspop 2007 in Haarlem, a public music festival as part of nationwide festivities to commemorate the day we were liberated from the Germans in 1945.

As you can see the air was really dusty. We’ve had some crazy dry and warm weather here over the last three weeks which turned the grass from the park into a huge sandbox. Add a few thousand people partying and this is the result. I’m still coughing and sneezing up black dust, but it was fun!

Shot with my Ixus, which is acting up and reporting memory card errors. Some of my pics even got corrupted. This one is pretty much the only one that was undamaged

Lazy afternoon in the park

Shot this weekend in the Haarlemmerhout park in Haarlem. We had exceptionally nice weather for this time of year, around 25-28 degrees celsius. Had a nice and lazy afternoon in the park with my girlfriend, and a nice glass of wine.
